Student Motivation

I don’t know how you guys came up with that [giving to charities], but that is something! For a 13 or 14 year old who feels like they have no power to change the world – no power to do anything – THAT empowers them. They love it.

Lois Swineford
Math Teacher, Suncrest Middle School

Data Driven 1:1 Instruction

We’re addressing each student individually, which allows us to impact more students, where they are… If you need to slow down or if you’re capable of moving forward, it gives all students a chance to have their needs met.

Jim Wilson
Principal, Beaumont ISD, Texas

There’s Nothing Like It

The fact that it does find the students’ weaknesses and is able to target their instruction… Then, when you couple that with the fact that they have the tutors, the avatar, the actual live teacher if they need it. There’s really nothing out there like it.

Kristina Miller
Grade 8 Teacher, Round Rock ISD, Texas

Live Teacher Support Helps My Students

When they’re stuck on a question, they know that they can immediately go to the live coach… It helps their thinking process as they’re going through the problem. Maybe they misinterpreted the way the problem was worded, and so having someone else kind of guide them through it, is a plus.

Title 1 Coordinator, Beaumont ISD, Texas

Students Understand Mathematics

What I guess I love the most is when they actually tell me, ‘I’m really understanding things now, because when I see it on Think Through Math it makes sense.’ So I hear that a lot and that makes me happy.

4th Grade Math Teacher, Beaumont ISD, Texas

A Roadmap For Every Student

Our curriculum is wonderful, but Think Through Math supports it. If the students achieve below level, Think Through Math remediates them. I tell them it’s a roadmap. They might have to take a detour now and again, but they’re going to get there and they’re going to meet us. It’s like having a teaching assistant right with me.

Adria Scott
Grade 6 Teacher, North Hills SD, Pennsylvania

Live Teachers Are Like Magic

They [the students] get so excited when they get to use the learning coach because they like to talk to them… They love using that, because to them it’s a teacher that they can’t see, so it’s almost like magic.

Ashley Chasaw
4th Grade Math Teacher, Beaumont ISD, Texas

Aligned to What I’m Teaching

I guess the part that I like the most is how close it is aligned to what I’m teaching in my class… Having the coach was a big help, because it’s someone, besides me, teaching them the same thing. The pictures and visuals are huge for them, because they’re different ways to see the same information. So it catches all of your learners.

Ashley Chasaw
4th Grade Math Teacher, Beaumont ISD, Texas

A Quality Program We Trust

I think that the teachers like using Think Through Math because they feel comfortable letting their students go to the computers without their direct oversight. They feel comfortable with what the students are receiving in terms of instruction and realize that the students are engaged.

Ashley Chasaw
RTI Mathematics Coordinator, Irving ISD, Texas

Data-Informed Instruction

These students, they come to us with gaps. The thing about the data, and leveraging the data, is that you can really drill down and figure out what it is they exactly need… those kinds of things we can really look at and target. Think Through Math helps me to minimize all that extra work and really just focus on the student. It’s really empowering, for not only the student, but for the teacher as well.

Kristina Miller
Grade 8 Teacher, Round Rock ISD, Texas

Differentiated Instruction

We look at the individual student reports. That way we can track our students that we really need to remediate in a more differentiated type of instruction, like small group… We can actually pull students aside from looking at their previous data, those that we need to address in certain areas and conduct a small group, teacher-directed lesson… So we use it for differentiated instruction a lot, and it really does help.

Marilyn Pace-White
Title 1 Coordinator, Beaumont ISD, Texas

A System for Differentiation

Teachers are allowed to really get to know the students quickly, rather than waiting until three months into the school year… As a teacher, I can go through and look at my reports and data. Then I can really see what I need to pull. And that way, when I do those small groups, I know exactly what I need to do for those students.

Kristina Miller
Grade 8 Teacher, Round Rock ISD, Texas

Teaching Students to Give Back

Think Through Math is one of the most realistic companies I’ve ever seen in supporting students and really teaching them about giving back… To see young people in elementary and middle school being concerned and wanting to give their points to charities, so that they can feel like they are a part of making life better for other people, is just incredible. I just think that’s fantastic!

Sandy Turner
RTI Mathematics Coordinator, Irving ISD, Texas

Kids Love Technology

First of all, it’s a motivator. Kids love technology, because it’s animated, self-checking, and self-paced. It’s kind of in their world. It belongs, truly, to this generation. They just embrace technology. It’s part of who they are, they’ve never been without it. So it’s just natural to them.

Jackie Moreno
Elementary Math Coordinator, Galena Park ISD, Texas

Remediate and Reinforce

With the pre-assessment that places them where they need to be in the program, that’s a great start… as they progress through, they are on track. It shows the kids different methods to learn how to do math problems, so it does help them with their remediation.

Marilyn Pace-White
Title 1 Coordinator, Beaumont ISD, Texas

Rewarding Effort

What I appreciate most about it is students are rewarded with points for their efforts and just for working hard… That, in turn, is what’s going to make them better. I know if I were the 70-percent child and saw the 90-percent child only getting the rewards, that wouldn’t be very motivating for me to continue. But you see them all motivated, because they’re all rewarded for their efforts.

Sandy Turner
RTI Mathematics Coordinator, Irving ISD, Texas

A Key Ingredient – Live Teachers

What I really like about Think Through Math is that it manages student progress… They take the test, it sets them up and paces them to where their abilities are. If they need a review lesson, it gives it to them through the chat room, live teacher, and white board. That’s really a great piece to it as well.

Imagine Math helps students understand math on a deeper level. Not only has the program improved student behavior, it has improved student achievement.
Terri Chidgey, Executive Director of School Improvement
North East ISD, San Antonio, TX
We saw impressive gains across the board after using Imagine Math, not only in each grade but at each student’s performance level. The software’s adaptive learning technology makes sure that every student benefits from the right lesson at the right time. Best of all, access to live teachers is invaluable. It’s exactly what these students need.
Robert Cole, Teacher
Beckley-Stratton Middle School
The most important thing I can say is the more time you allow students to spend on Imagine Math, the more math they will learn, and the better your results on the PSSA will be.
Michael Turek, Principal
Frazier Middle School
It is the perfect teaching companion. We see the lights go on every day as students make connections and learn that they can do math.
Dan Ahrens, Technology Coordinator
Southeast Middle School, Diamond, OH

I have used Imagine Math for about five years now and I am confident that this online resource has benefited my students substantially. It poses questions in a way to truly ensure they have mastered the concepts and skills we cover in class in a way that I never could with worksheets.

Planning the pizza party is a wonderful and powerful incentive, and all of the students want to contribute which makes them work even harder outside of school hours.

I LOVE Think Through Math and what it does for my students.

Christina Pereira, 4th Grade Teacher
Campbell Elementary School
The most effective tool we can give our students is the ability to think–so they can gain the confidence to succeed in mathematics. We admire Imagine Math because it’s fun and helps students learn how to think and understand the problem solving process.
