James Wrubel is the chief technical officer for Think Through Math. Prior to joining TTM, James was a technical manager at Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute where he created the Virtual Training Environment, an online learning platform for Federal and Department of Defense information technology and computer security training that grew to reach more than 100,000 learners across the globe.

Prior to the Software Engineering Institute, James worked for companies in the interactive and Internet infrastructure as a software engineer and project manager, most notably Arnold Worldwide. At Arnold, James led the development of the entire consumer-facing Web presence of Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. He also worked at BBN (now Level3), one of the early architects of the Internet. James has been an invited speaker at several Department of Defense, IEEE and Sloan-C e-learning conferences. He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and a Master of Science degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
