Jeffrey McCormick is the founder and managing partner of Saturn Partners, a Boston-based venture capital firm founded in 1993. With more than 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur and venture capitalist, Jeff has helped build valuable companies in software tools, education, biotechnology, and alternative energy. He works closely with management teams to develop strategic relationships and formulate product development, marketing, and distribution strategies. In addition to Think Through Learning, he serves on the boards of American Made (specialty materials), SureLogic (software), Knopp Biosciences (an ALS treatment), and Applied Clean Tech (waste management/energy), among others.
Residing in Boston with his wife and three children it is tremendously important to Jeff to be an active participant in his community. He is the founding principal sponsor of the Sean McDonough Charities for Children, whose goal is to raise and distribute funds to children’s charities throughout Massachusetts. Education and mentoring are an area of great interest for Jeff. As an alumnus of Syracuse University, where he holds his MBA in finance and B.S. in biology, he serves on the Dean’s Advisory Committee of the Whitman School of Management. His pay-it-forward attitude also inspires his commitment to providing internships, as well as mentoring and collaborative programs at Saturn, giving him the opportunity to share his experience, knowledge, and success with up-and-coming leaders.
