Think Through Math Students Have Solved A Quarter Billion Math Problems

PITTSBURGH, PA – January 27, 2014 – Think Through Math (TTM), the software that combines intensive math instruction and instant live online tutoring, announced today that students have solved more than a quarter billion math problems this school year.

Designed to prepare students for the rigors of the Texas STAAR and Common Core assessments, TTM provides a breakthrough experience where students are highly supported every step of the way.  The software continuously adapts to each student’s unique learning level so that students are always studying at the level where they can succeed.  And when they are stuck and have tried several ways to solve a problem but are still not getting it, they receive instant individual tutoring from U.S. math teachers who will work with them until they make a learning breakthrough. TTM classroom-experienced math teachers, many of whom are bilingual, help students 90 hours each week.

“The fact that students are solving up to five million problems daily on TTM is a powerful demonstration of how engaging it is to kids,” said Peter Cipkowski, VP Education. “All students can learn math. We believe it and TTM is engineered to help students believe it, too.”

This school year, students have completed twice the number of math lessons as last year. The company forecasts that students will solve close to a billion before the school year ends.

“TTM is a safe, encouraging learning environment that provides access to highly supportive math teachers,” said Cipkowski. “That’s motivating. And when kids realize that they’re actually making meaningful progress, they don’t want to stop.”

As students solve problems and advance through their individualized pathways, they earn points, based on effort and accuracy. Points can be applied by students to further customize their experience or, if they choose, donated to select charities, including PACER’S National Bullying Prevention Center, Wounded Warrior Project and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

TTM, the most widely used supplemental math software, is now available on all mobile devices (7” screen or greater).
